I just had to show this...see more stuff like this at Videos+Pictures(and for a chance to be featured there email: [email protected]
1. PLANKLeft, right or center, this is great because I always feel like I really engage my core. A suggestion: do it on your elbows-it's more difficult to 'cheat' and if it hurts more it's because your not doing it right when your arms are straight. 2. BALLET CLASSDid you know that you get a much better core workout when you do a full ballet class with your core engaged than you do with anything else? Well you do. Next class you should fire those abs. 3. STRAIGHT LEGGED 'BICYCLE'This is like bicycle sit ups in the way that you always have one leg closer to you and your elbow is going towards your knee, only this version both legs are straight(one would be facing up towards the ceiling and the other straight to the wall ahead) and you switch them up and down. Have fun mwahaha;) 4. DURING THE DAY...WHILE DOING EVERYDAY THINGS?Excuse me, did I just say what you think I said? Yes I did. While doing whatever you do everyday(brushing your teeth, sitting in the car, walking the dog, eating your dinner) and thinking about engaging and firing your core you are helping yourself so much. I do this as I write on my blog and while I sit in the car. It really helps. 5. CRUNCHESSimple, basic, typical, but when done correctly, they really help. There is a reason everyone does them so much. For the best results keep your hands straight ahead and think about engaging your core and sucking those tummy muscles in.
Thank you so much for reading this, I really appreciate it. I would also appreciate it if you commented some feedback? Thanks :) What do you like to do to strengthen your core? Buh-Bye my bunhead nerds, Alli 1. Baby PowderThis is something my dance teacher told me about and that I love. It is great for blister prevention. I simply keep a small bottle in my point shoe bag and before class I shake some onto my toes-my feet don't smell as much and...no blisters! Preventing your blisters from happening is the best way to deal with them. 2. Corn PadsA sort of sticky-on-the-bottom styrofoam-y circle with a hole in the middle. It cushions your blister and I definitely suggest them. My blisters always feel much better when I use them. I would advise that you secure them with tape though, your sweat might make them fall off. 3. Rubbing AlchoholA prevention as well as something to help your blisters heal. Put some on a cotton ball and rub it all over your feet to give them calluses, or on your blisters to dry them out, heal them much quicker and turn them into calluses so you wont get a blister there again! A warning: It stings a bit. 4. Polysporin Heal-FastI try to avoid this method(not sure why) but some friends at dance say they love it, and sometimes their blisters almost heal overnight. Not sure how this works but why not Try it out? Learn more about it: http://www.polysporin.ca/products/complete-antibiotic-ointment. 5. Blister Band-AidsA bit pricey but I found they worked well. i'm not sure which brand I use but it's perfect for those blisters with no skin left on them(you know what i'm talking about, those bright-pink ones). I left them on for a long time and it fell off when it healed. It worked in a similar to a cold sore patch.
